Honored with a nomination for “Best instrumental album” by Quebec’s Adisq in 2007,  Marimuz is a pianist/ composer that aims to please. Her works vary from world to rock, but always built on a classical music base and sometimes orchestrations. Her second effort, Ezperanto II, was recently released and welcomed by the audiences, as this opus presents a mature blend of orchestrated music inspired by events of the past twenty years, notably the fall of the twin towers on 9/11.

Her first effort was graced by the presence of famous artist Raoul Dugay, who sang and played flugelhorn on “Lamentations”. The work was subsequently used by the Duhamel/Buntin Canadian figure skating team, and Marimuz will no doubt be a name that you’ll hear more frequently, if you’re a fan of transcendant, classical inspired music.

Happy listening !
